Our First Hike!

Since we got an extra day off this weekend because of Memorial Day, I told Josh that we needed to get out of our comfort zone and try something new.  So Josh came up with the idea to go on a hike.  I was totally shocked when Josh suggested this.  Even though it sounded like a great idea to me, I was still questioning if it would actually happen.  Well it DID!
Josh did some research and decided that we should go up to Millcreek Canyon, and hike a trail up there.  Neither one of us had been hiking before, so this was definitely a new adventure for us.  It took us a little bit to find where the trail started, but once we found it, we had fun.

On our way home from our hike, we saw that the Waffle Love truck was in a parking lot.  We have been wanting to try this food truck, so we figured now was our chance.

Bee's Date!

It seems like all we ever do is work, so we love it when we can find other things to do together.  We found that the Bee's had a home game on Friday night, so we thought that would be a great date night for us.
This was probably the most interesting game we had been to.  Not because of the game, but because of the people that were sitting around us.  It was quite entertaining.

Would of been your 1st birthday....

May 23, 2015 was our due date.  So since our baby that we never got to meet is always on our minds, we decided to celebrate, what should of been her/his first birthday.  Time hasn't made it any easier yet.  It's been a year and a half since our world took a dramatic turn.  Our baby is always in our thoughts and hearts.  HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY!

Vigor Utah Half Marathon

On Saturday, May 14, I ran my 6th half marathon.  And boy was it a tuff one.  I knew that it was all down hill, but I guess I forgot just how steep it was in places.  I have never had my calves cramp up like they did in this run.

My brother Shane did this race too.  Of course he finished way before I did.  He was near the finish line when I passed through, and then ran with me the rest of the way.

I finished at 2:00:28.  That's about when I thought I would finish so I can't complain!  I said that this would be my last half marathon, but we'll see if anyone can talk me into another one!

Spring 2015 Adventures

On December 21, my sweet new niece Oaklee was born.  She's a sweet little girl and I'm so happy she is a part of our family.  Tyson and Sady are awesome new parents!

This is Oaklee and I on her blessing day February 28, 2016.

I can't believe it'a already almost April.  Crazy that time flies by so fast!  We haven't been up to too much over the past few months.
In February we went to a Jazz game with my family.  For Christmas, we bought my parents tickets to a Jazz game.  Then instead of buying each other gifts, we also bought ourselves tickets to the same game.  Tyson and Sady didn't come since Oaklee wasn't very old at the time.  It was a fun time!!

At the end of February we put a new deck on our house!  This was a project that has needed to be done for a long time.  When we bought our house, we sanded the deck and refinished the wood.  That only lasted for so long with it being in the weather all of the time.  So this year we finally decided to get rid of the wood, and do a stamped concrete deck instead.  We love it and can't wait to use it this summer!

In March, Josh went on a four day golfing trip to St. George with a few of his golfing friends.  I never thought I'd hear him say that he was golfed out.  He came back with a lovely sinus infection.  I guess 99 holes of golf didn't agree with his body.

Even though my doctor recommended that I find a new hobby that didn't include running, I can't give it up completely.  I have scaled back significantly though, so for that, I am proud of myself.  I ran a 10K race for breast cancer, with a few people that I used to work with.  It was a lot of fun and was for a fantastic cause, and I even placed 2nd in my age group!
Even though it was freezing cold, the mountains were beautiful in Alpine, Utah!
I love that I have the most amazingly supportive husband when it comes to my running hobby!  Not too many people would be woken up at 6:30am on a Saturday, to go stand out in the cold and watch their wife run.  I love him!
We are looking forward to more fun in the sun as it keeps getting warmer and warmer!  Although there is snow in the forecast again tomorrow.

Happy Three Years To Us!

December 12 was our 3 year wedding anniversary!  It feels like it's been a lot longer than three years that we've been married.  We like to go by our official relationship starting date, which would make it 6 years.  We had a nice relaxing day of sleeping in, watching Christmas movies, and then shopping.
A collage Josh put together of some pictures from our wedding day.

Josh, me, and Reverend Davis, that married us.

Halloween 2015

On Halloween we went to the Garth Brooks concert.  It was beyond amazing!  We had so much fun and enjoyed every minute of it!  The concert started at 7pm, and didn't get over till about 11:15pm.  Garth Brooks is one amazing performer!  Josh and I both knew all but 2 songs that he did.  Even after the main show was over, Garth came out and did song requests from the fans.  It was definitely worth the money, and we will be going again when he comes back to Salt Lake!
